Rubissow Vineyard is a 45 acre hillside estate with 18.5 acres planted to vines and the remainder in oak, redwood and ski-slope-steep slopes. The estate is a vineyard island in that we are surrounded by forest and grasslands. We are in a splendid, private little corner of terroir.
We farm sustainably to the highest standards of Organic practice. Indeed, the core of winemaker Timothy Milos' interpretation of this rugged land is to focus on vine nutrition and meticulous hand care of the vines. Accordingly, harvest is picked in small lots to maximize ripeness and varietal character.
Our hill is the first steep southern foothill of the Mt. Veeder region and as such faces directly into the fog driven winds of Carneros and its cooler, breezy climate. This cooling effect inspires our wine's rich complexity and consistently bright, expressive fruit.
