You've got to be crazy to make wine the way we do.
It starts up here on the steep, sunny/windy/foggy slopes of southern Mt. Veeder where we work our estate by hand - carefully, meticulously, tirelessly nurturing each of our 22,000 vines, limiting fruit production to a ridiculously small yield.
And it doesn't stop there: In the winery no expense or effort is spared in using the finest, natural techniques to emphasize each wine's unique beauty. The 100% french oak barrels we use are all handmade by artisan family cooperages who are just as "fou" about terroir expression as we are....
And as if that's not enough we then criss-cross the country meeting sommeliers, chefs and enthusiasts to introduce them to the story of our vineyard - as told by the wine...
Growing, making and selling estate wines is a demanding livelihood. Yet we love doing this, in spite of the fact we surely all lost our marbles long ago...
Our aim is true: to make rare, single vineyard wines promising authentic expression of place, exquisite enjoyment and rewarding ageability.
