Melinda oversees the Rubissow Mailing List and WIne Club and also takes care of the estate grounds and gardens at Rubissow Vineyards. Melinda grew up in Albuquerque, NM, where a love of nature took root in her bones. Before arriving at Rubissow, she worked as a sous chef at a prominent Napa restaurant where she developed a passion for great wines; convinced kids to like swiss chard while running a garden education program at COPIA; and befriended the world's best group of volunteers while managing the NAPA VISITOR CENTER. In 2006 she earned her BA in Culture, Ecology and Sustainable Communities with a Concentration in Ecological Agriculture from The New College of California. This afforded her the opportunity to learn from some incredible folks while studying at small farms throughout Marin, Sonoma and Mendicino counties including the splendid COMMONWEAL GARDENS in Bolinas. She says that at Rubissow she's lucky to have found "a little piece of nirvana atop Mt. Veeder working with downright cool people." Living on the vineyard, she tends a year-round edible garden (keeping everyone on the estate well supplied with plums, apples, cucumbers, corn, beans and Sungold cherry tomatoes.) She relishes welcoming guests to this beautiful place she calls home.
